Cypress is a city with lots of amenities, a great school system, low crime rate, and plenty of community events. We love bringing music lessons to such a spirited community.
If you’re hoping to take singing lessons in Cypress, you’re in good company. Broadway and television stars John Stamos and Matthew Morrison both grew up and started their singing careers there. But our lessons are tailored to individual interest, and even if you see yourself more as a Taylor Swift or Sam Smith than a Matthew Morrison, we’re excited to work with you.
With Cypress College in the neighborhood, it’s not surprising that we get plenty of vocal students who need to prepare audition material for the Applied Music Program. The college has ensembles that sing choral music, jazz, and musical theater, so there’s plenty to work on.
The piano is a wonderful introduction to music. Its linear set of keys makes music theory easy to visualize, and many college music programs require that you pass a piano proficiency test, even if piano isn’t your primary instrument. But the piano is much more than a starter instrument. Perfect for classical music enthusiasts and pop musicians alike, it’s exceptionally versatile.
While some students drive to our Orange or Costa Mesa locations, most choose in-home piano lessons in Cypress. What could be more convenient?
Guitar is one of our most popular instruments, for a variety of reasons. It’s ultra-portable, perfect for a variety of settings, and great for accompanying the pop and singer-songwriter music many of our students love. Cypress College has a guitar program, as well as a classical guitar ensemble, so some of our students taking guitar lessons in Cypress work toward their college audition.
Because Molly’s Music specializes in artist development, we help our students become well-rounded musicians. If your goal is to be a contemporary singer, it’s hard to imagine a better combination than vocal and guitar lessons all in one. Almost all of our instrument teachers also instruct voice, so we’re happy to find you a teacher who can work with you on both.
We love Cypress for many reasons, but in particular, the community events and opportunities it offers.
Fun Fact: Cypress got its name from Cypress Elementary, which got its name from the Cypress Trees that were planted as protection from the Santa Ana winds.
