A few years ago, I wrote a post with 11 choirs that adults can join in Orange County, California. The post was met with so many wonderful singers writing in with their own choir for me to add that I decided to write a new post that included all the additional adult choirs I’ve learned about. Here are 11 more choirs for adults in Orange County, in no particular order!

1. Festival Singers

The Festival Singers is a mixed-gender choir based in Rancho Santa Margarita that sings everything from Bach to Broadway. Formal auditions aren’t held, but new singers can meet with the director in September, January, or late March to join the choir and determine voice part.

2. Paul Delgado Singers

The Paul Delgado Singers is an auditioned professional-level mixed-gender chamber choir located in North Orange County. The choir sings classic repertoire, as well as commissioned works.

3. Meritage Vocal Arts Ensemble

Meritage is an auditioned mixed-gender group, about 50 singers strong, based in Anaheim. They sing everything from Broadway to classical.

4. Voices of Tustin

Voices of Tustin is a non-audition mixed-gender choir based in Tustin. They rehearse Tuesday evenings. The choir has about 40 members and is led by Davide Peay.

5. De Angeles Vocal Ensemble

Located in San Juan Capistrano, De Angeles Vocal Ensemble is a mixed-gender audition choir that champions lesser-known works, especially ones by today’s composers.

6. MenAlive

MenAlive is the Orange County Gay Men’s Chorus. Auditions are held in Santa Ana, and performances take place all over, from the Irvine Barclay to the Hollywood Bowl.

7. Master Chorale of Saddleback Valley

The Master Chorale of Saddleback Valley is a mixed-gender audition choir located in San Juan Capistrano. They perform a variety of styles, from Mozart to Queen.

8. Harborlites Chorus

Based in Huntington Beach, the Harborlites Chorus is a women’s chorus of over one hundred voices that sings exclusively a cappella music. If you’re interested in auditioning, you should try out one of the rehearsals and then schedule an audition.

9. OC Sound Chorus

The OC Sound Chorus is another women’s a cappella group, this time based in Mission Viejo. Both OC Sound Chorus and Harborlites Chorus are part of Sweet Adelines International, an organization of 21,000 female singers around the globe.

10. Orange Empire Chorus

The Orange Empire Chorus is the Fullerton branch of the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS), which started as an all-male group but recently voted to begin accepting females. Originally based in Tennessee, BHS is now an umbrella organization with chapters in 17 districts, including Orange County. The Orange Empire Chorus is still an all-male organization.

11. Westminster Chorus

The Westminster Chorus is a branch of the Barbershop Harmony Society chorus for younger men that rehearses in Anaheim. You can attend a rehearsal to see what it’s all about or schedule an audition.

  1. I am very interested in joining a choir. I was in a choir in high school and sang in choir at church. I currently live in Garden Grove. Is there a choir that I could join that is close to my area? If so, what are the requirements? I look forward to hearing from you.
