Q & A with Isaiah

MM: How did you get started with singing and performing, and how long have you been at it?

IP: I’ve always had a passion for singing ever since I was a child. I loved to sing in the car or wherever I was, and then I decided to take it seriously. I loved being able to express myself with my music, and it allows me to show how I really feel at that moment in time, whilst I’m singing the song. I’ve been singing for about 4 years going on 5 years.

MM: How do you share your music with others? What’s your favorite performance so far?

IP: I share my music with others through choir, recitals, and I also do YouTube which is where I share most of my music, so that people can listen to it and critique me. My favorite performance so far is when I sang Youngblood by 5 Seconds of Summer, because I felt really comfortable and I felt like I could really express myself in the song.

MM: What makes you keep up your practice, and what are your top goals?

IP: What makes me keep up my practice is my love and passion for performing/singing, I enjoy being on stage and being able to share my feelings through the songs I sing.

MM: What are some of your favorite artists or bands, and why do they inspire you?

IP: Some of my favorite artists or bands include: Frank Sinatra, Lauryn Hill, John Legend, Sam Smith, Khai Dreams, Daniel Caesar, James Brown, Paul Anka, Elvis Presley, the Beatles, and so many more. They inspire me because their songs always have a story behind it and I also just really enjoy listening to their music because it inspires me to become better at my craft.

MM: You seem to have an old soul when it comes to your musical performance choices. You’ve done a lot of Frank Sinatra and stuff like that. How did you get into listening to and singing classic music?

IP: I got into listening and singing classic music mostly because of my uncle. Due to the fact that he knows a lot about music, he was my guide for the music I sing and listen to today. From there on out I did my own research on jazz, swing, etc. found out about Frank Sinatra, Paul Anka, Dean Martin, and many more.

MM: You have such a gorgeous voice! Are you interested in having a career in singing?

IP: Yes, I am interested in having a career in singing. Although it’s difficult, I’m willing to push to my limits to achieve my goal to become a professional singer.

MM: Do you have any performance-based social media sites you want to share, like Instagram, YouTube, or Facebook?

IP: You can follow me and my singing on Instagram: Isaiah Zayne, YouTube: Isaiah Plascencia Sings, and Facebook: Isaiah Plascencia
