Work For Us
At Molly’s Music, we have two types of clientele: our students and our teachers. We know that a successful business hinges on making both happy. When you join our team, you become part of one of the most unique music schools out there, enjoying some of the most competitive pay in the county. It’s the ethical thing for us to do, after the years of training you put in; not to mention, happier teachers always means happier students.

At Molly’s Music
We’re always looking for talented, reliable music teachers in the Orange County area to add to our staff. In particular, we’d love to talk to you if you can teach voice and an accompaniment instrument (piano, guitar, and ukulele, for example). We have spaces for private studio teachers in Irvine, Orange, and Costa Mesa and private in-home teachers who can drive to students’ Orange County homes.

Who We’re Looking For:
Our ideal candidate has either prior experience teaching, or an academic background in music (preferably vocal pedagogy and an instrument). You’re friendly, driven, and want to pass your love and knowledge of music to others. You don’t miss deadlines, and the thought of letting people down makes your stomach queasy. If this sounds like you, read on.
- Must have valid driver’s license and a way to drive to students’ houses.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Must have availability on at least one weekday, between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
- Availability on weekends is preferred.

Benefits & Perks
Benefits and Perks of Working with Molly’s Music:
We view our company as a service to both students and teachers. Our teachers are independent contractors, but are well cared for:
Getting paid
You will never have to try to collect your own payment from students. If you teach the lesson, you will get paid. Even in the rare scenario when we are unable to collect payment from the student, our teacher will still get paid.
24hr Cancelation policy
If a student doesn’t cancel a lesson by 5:00 the evening before, we will still pay our teacher for the time as if they taught the complete lesson.
Scheduling
A Music Coordinator takes care of your scheduling based on the availability you give us, to the degree you desire. All you’ll need to do is show up and teach the lesson
Performance Opportunities
We provide 6 recitals a year for our students. We offer, 3 Kid-Teen ones, 2 Teen-Adult ones, and an Instrumental Only Recital.
Experience
As a vocal coaching applicant, you should be someone who can read music, and who can provide accompaniment on piano or guitar. You have a repertoire of vocal exercises under your belt, and you know when to apply them and how to make corrections. We’ll provide extra teacher training, but you should definitely have a vocal education behind you. You don’t over-evangelize one genre over another, and you feel that R&B, pop, or rock has merits just like musical theater and classical voice. Being able to teach an instrument is a major plus.
For those applying to teach piano, guitar, or another instrument, you should not only be able to demonstrate competency, but you should also be able to clearly communicate that knowledge to a complete beginner.
We’re big fans of teaching our students tools of the trade, so if you can coach audition preparation, performance technique, recording, or something related, we’d like to talk to you!
